Cartuja Institute is the first and only center in Spain to offer his patients the new technology of non-invasive surgery using focused ultrasound guided by magnetic resonance imaging (MRgFUS technology).

 

Currently this technology is available in some 80 centers worldwide. These include centers in Europe, with St. Mary's Hospital at Imperial College London Clinic The Von Charité Humboldt University of Berlin and in the U.S., Brigham Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Weill Medical College, University of California San Diego, Cornell University and others. To date, over 5,500 patients have been treated by MRgFUS technology.

MRgFUS technology is a new technology of "non-invasive surgery image-guided. It applies to the treatment of tumors by focusing ultrasound beams harmless guided by an MRI. It does not require hospitalization or general anesthesia and / the patient can return to normal activities the next day.
